  • La nature dans New York City

Looking for country landscapes in places as improbable as the five New York City boroughs, JS Cartier did find empty beaches in Brooklyn, a virgin forest in the Bronx, pheasants nesting in the upper reaches of Manhattan and duck ponds in Queens and Staten Island.

The many photographs taken with a 4X5-inch camera in b&w and color
have only been shown in the Urban Center, a New York public gallery.
